Wikis are a great tool for students to publish their knowledge. David Warlick explained today to a group of educators that Wikis are used for starting and creating collaborations. Each student contributes their learning and thoughts. Wikis are easy to write and edit and add links It becomes the student’s personal webpage.
Here are some guidlines that other great wiki developers have used with their classes.
1. Post meaningful, relevant information that they have learned.
2. Summarize information they find on the Net and link to it.
3. Do not delete information of another unless it was redundant or they paraphrased/edited it to make it better.

What does a Wiki bring to the classroom? How do student’s feel about using a wiki to collaborate? Do they engage them or give them a purpose for learning? How does it compare to traditional classroom assignments? What do teachers observe about the use of a wiki in the classroom?
wiki bring goodness to our classroom and fun. after our work we could not do anything exept read but noww we can get on the computer and go to wiki and express our thoughts.our class likes to talk and when we cant talk we can just go to wiki and type without talking. you can learn a lot of thing on the site by the people who are on it the might tpye something that you dont know
thank you Mrs.Lawson for coming to my class and teach us about the wiki’s. It was so cool how you can link other things onto the wiki’s thank you soooo much.The best thing of all just like for the friends camping trip. on email you would have to send one of the messages to one of your friends and then forwad it to the others and on wiki they will all see it at the same time.

I think a wiki brings great ideas to each other and we don’t even have to use e-mail, and you can learn a ton of history and everything else! Also I think a lot of the students love doing wiki collaborates.

This was very helpful. It told me what a wiki is and what a wiki is. A wiki is a faster way of emailing. the w used for planning things or talking about things. USE A WIKI THERE BUTTERY. DONT USE EMAILS THERE LAME.

I think that wikis are an interesting way of communicating with others. This will be a exciting way for all of us kids.
This is very different from writing on a piece of paper in many ways. You can go in and change nearly anything there…. that is if you have permission to!

I think a wiki brings a more fun leraning process to the class rooms. I think that students feel kinda nervous and kind of good at the smae time because thay are probaly nervous and very carefull on what they put because thave got to remember that the whole world will seee it. I also thinmk tyhe students feeel good because thay get to use a new type of technoligy. i think it deos engage in learning because thay feel more confident on what they are diong because it is a coll piece of technoligy. It deos compare to callroom assignments because it is more fun because u get to use a computer and not a boring old pencil and paper. I think the techers observe that the students are gaving more fun because of how they recact when thay say lets use the wiki or get out you pencil and paper and the teachers can tell different responds of attitude towards paper and pencil and a wiki

I think wikis let you express your feelings by telling people what you think and also can express all your feelings to the WORLD.
